OMEGA’s Hall of Fame

OMEGA has been responsible for some of the most important innovations in the history of watchmaking: mechanical watches with unmatched precision, chronographs which have been to the Moon, and more than a century of the industry’s best series production movements. The Hall of Fame introduces some of our highlights.

Master watchmaker and inventor George Daniels is confident about the enduring appeal of mechanical wristwatches. Their continued popularity is ensured, he said, “by their qualities: they are historic, technical, intellectual, aesthetic, useful and even amusing. These properties have sustained the popularity of mechanical watches through the ages and are bound to carry it well into the future.”

In OMEGA’s long history, the brand has created an enormous number of timepieces made important by their technical innovation, their unique design, their precision or the role they played in history.

OMEGA is dedicating this section of the website to some of the great watches we have produced over the years. For each of these timepieces which represent such an important part of our history, we will also present a wristwatch from our current catalogue which has a direct, linear connection to its famous ancestor.
