Dead Spider Watch by ARTYA

Lightning-struck dials, battered pieces and dead spiders: the treatments used to make ArtyA timepieces are as awesome as they are astonishing! They are the expression of what happens when the super-charged imagination of a fanatical creator, Yvan Arpa, meets traditional craftsmanship. For the very first time, techniques from the world of conceptual art have been applied to watchmaking. For example, the case is subjected to an electrical charge of anything between 100,000 and 1,000,000 volts – depending on the mood of the artist – as well as to modelling and engraving, while a spider spreads its spindly legs over a dial flecked with gold and silver leaf filaments. With the help of his companion, the artist Dominique Arpa-Cirpka, Yvan has met the extreme challenge of introducing one-of-a-kind artworks to watchmaking and, ot the same time, launched an unprecedented Halloween collection.
